an integrative manual therapy and movement clinic with a holistic touch

Medical Orthopedic Massage

Medical Orthopedic Massage is a specialized therapeutic approach designed to enhance the body’s natural self-healing process and reduce recovery time for musculoskeletal injuries or chronic pain. By combining advanced massage techniques, it targets the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues to address underlying issues like muscle strain, joint pain, postural imbalances, and restricted movement.

Reiki

Reiki is an ancient gentle, hands-on Japanese healing practice.  It promotes deep relaxation, reduces stress, and supports the body’s natural healing abilities.  Rooted in energy flow, Reiki practitioners channel “life force energy” to help balance and restore one’s mind, body, and spirit.

Postural Assessment

Understanding your body’s mechanics is key to healing. Our postural assessment evaluates your body’s alignment to identify imbalances or misalignments that could be causing pain or limiting movement. By analyzing your posture and movement patterns, we can better understand how your body functions and create a personalized plan to improve alignment, reduce discomfort, and enhance mobility.

Functional Assesments

Assessing your body’s movement helps uncover issues that may cause pain or injury. We’ll guide you through functional movements, evaluating their quality to identify limitations or imbalances. This allows us to create a personalized plan to improve movement, enhance performance, and prevent future problems.

Muscle Testing/Applied Kinesiology

***Coming Soon***

Applied Kinesiology is a holistic diagnostic technique that uses muscle testing to assess the body’s response to physical, emotional, or chemical stimuli. By evaluating muscle strength in reaction to specific challenges it helps identify imbalances or weaknesses in the body’s systems, such as the nervous, musculoskeletal, or organ systems. This approach uncovers underlying issues that may contribute to pain, discomfort, or dysfunction.

Functional Diagnostic Nutrition

**Coming in 2026**

Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN) is a holistic approach that uses lab testing to identify imbalances in the body’s systems, such as digestive, hormonal, and metabolic functions. By analyzing test results, FDN practitioners create personalized health plans focusing on nutrition, lifestyle changes, and herbs or supplementation to address the root causes of symptoms and support the body’s natural healing process

With advanced training and extensive experience, we focus on educating you about our findings during thorough assessments, including static, dynamic, and tactile evaluations related to your specific injury or condition. You will play an integral role in your recovery, as most of our patients receive personalized exercises designed to address dysfunction, which we will discuss and send to you following your initial evaluation.

What is the process like?

Get in touch with our clinic to set up your new patient evaluation. After you confirm your appointment, you will receive an email with our new patient forms, which we ask you to complete prior to your visit. During your initial evaluation, you will provide a thorough medical history, engage in functional movements, undergo a postural assessment, and gain valuable insights from your therapist based on these evaluations. Following this, you will start your first treatment session, and we will work together to create a customized care plan designed specifically for you. Additionally, you will receive straightforward exercises to support your recovery and enhance your overall balance.

1. How long is the initial evaluation?

Your first session will involve a thorough and structured consultation lasting 75 minutes. During this time, you will provide essential background information, including your medical and personal history, as well as the reasons for seeking treatment. We will inquire about your symptoms, lifestyle, and any specific concerns related to the issues you are experiencing. Following this, the practitioner will conduct multiple assessments, including a postural evaluation, range of motion analysis, and functional assessments. After the evaluation, we will review the results together and discuss any conclusions drawn, allowing the practitioner to address any questions you may have. If time permits, we may initiate treatment during the final part of the session, which, although typically brief, has proven to be highly beneficial for our patients.

2. What should I wear to my first appointment?

When preparing for your massage session, think comfort and flexibility; your clothing choice can enhance your experience and facilitate the healing process. Opt for breathable fabrics that allow easy movement, such as lightweight athletic wear or loungewear. Consider layering for warmth, as rooms can vary in temperature, ensuring you feel cozy while fully draped. Avoid overly tight or constrictive garments, as these may hinder your range of motion during the session. Ultimately, wear what makes you feel most at ease, allowing you to relax fully and receive the most benefit from your treatment.

3. How will I receive my exercises?

NW Orthopaedic Massage utilizes a program through MedBridge to develop a comprehensive, personalized plan specifically tailored to your needs. You can expect to receive this via email or text, ensuring that you have easy access to your individualized exercises and recommendations.

4. How often do I need to be seen?
During your initial evaluation, you and your provider will work together to create a customized treatment plan that addresses your unique needs, includes recommended home exercises, and outlines the frequency of sessions tailored to your individual circumstances, ensuring that you achieve optimal results aligned with your availability and treatment goals.
5. Do you take insurance?

NW Orthopaedic Massage operates outside the major medical network and has chosen to discontinue accepting L&I patients; however, we remain dedicated to assisting PIP and motor vehicle accident patients. While being out of network may present certain challenges, we provide a superbill that allows you to file a claim with your insurance company, enabling reimbursement based on your individual plan’s benefits. This approach ensures you receive the essential support while effectively navigating your insurance options.  Please contact us if you have any questions regarding insurance or reimbursement.
